Kempen Kebajikan TOP & MYDIN Galakkan Kehadiran Kanak-kanak Kurang Bernasib Baik Ke Sekolah‏

Program Tanggungjawab Korporat Sosial (CSR) yang bertemakan ‘A Brighter Future with TOP and MYDIN’ atau ‘Cerahi Kehidupan Bersama TOP dan MYDIN’ dilancarkan di MYDIN Mall USJ oleh Timbalan Menteri Pembangunan Wanita, Keluarga dan Masyarakat, Yang Berhormat Senator Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun di sini pada hari ini.


Kempen ini akan menyaksikan 30 sen daripada jualan produk-produk terpilih TOP di semua cawangan MYDIN di seluruh negara bermula 12 Oktober hingga 13 Disember 2015 akan disalurkan bagi membeli kelengkapan sekolah seperti baju seragam, beg, stoking dan kasut sekolah untuk 400 orang kanak-kanak yang mungkin lebih kerap tidak menghadirkan diri ke sekolah disebabkan oleh kekurangan kelengkapan sekolah untuk digunakan sepanjang tempoh persekolahan.


Dengan kenaikan kos barangan keperluan sekolah, kempen ini berhasrat untuk mengumpul lebih daripada RM40,000 yang memberi manfaat kepada 400 orang anak yatim berusia 7 hingga 17 tahun daripada 18 buah rumah kebajikan di seluruh negara.

Di majlis pelancaran Cerahi Kehidupan Bersama TOP & MYDIN, Yang Berhormat Senator Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun, Timbalan Menteri, Kementerian Pembangunan Wanita, Keluarga dan Masyarakat seronok dengan persembahan yang dilakukan oleh kanak-kanak dari RACTAR dan Rumah KIDS

Kempen mengumpul dana ini bermula daripada satu kaji selidik ringkas yang dijalankan oleh TOP mengenai keperluan serta-merta yang melibatkan sejumlah rumah kebajikan. Kaji selidik itu juga selari dengan konsep jenama TOP yang menggalakkan gaya hidup bersih sejak dari usia muda.

Memahami keadaan kebanyakan kanak-kanak kurang bernasib baik yang sukar untuk mendapatkan pakaian bersih berbanding orang lain, jenama pencuci pakaian No. 1 di Malaysia¹, TOP telah menganjurkan kempen mengumpul dana ‘Cerahi Kehidupan Bersama TOP dan MYDIN’.

Objektif kempen ini adalah untuk menggalakkan kehadiran dan penyertaaan aktiviti di sekolah dengan cara menyediakan sokongan sewajarnya dalam mendapatkan pendidikan. Di samping menyediakan keperluan sekolah dan pakaian seragam seperti pelajar lain, ini pasti dapat meningkatkan keyakinan dan imej diri, selain mengajar mereka tentang kemahiran hidup seperti membasuh pakaian dan hadir dengan penampilan yang bersih serta kemas.


Timbalan Menteri Pembangunan Wanita, Keluarga dan Masyarakat, Yang Berhormat Senator Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun memuji TOP dan MYDIN kerana melibatkan rakan perniagaan serta pelanggan mereka dalam membawa tanggungjawab sosial kepada yang kurang bernasib baik, bersatu padu menolong mereka yang memerlukan dan secara tidak langsung memupuk masyarakat yang bersatu dan penyayang.

“Kempen Cerahi Kehidupan Bersama TOP dan MYDIN ini mampu melibatkan pengguna dan mendidik mereka mengenai kehidupan bersih menyeluruh. Mari bersama kami menyumbang sebanyak 30 sen melalui setiap pembelian produk-produk TOP terpilih di semua cawangan MYDIN di seluruh negara mulai 12 Oktober hingga 13 Disember 2015. Ia demi memberikan masa depan lebih cerah kepada 400 orang kanak-kanak dengan memberi keperluan persekolahan yang lengkap,” kata Foo mengakhiri bicara.

Planta Seceria Air Tangan Ibu campaign officially launched‏

Planta, Malaysia’s trusted margarine brand for generations, launched Seceria Air Tangan Ibu for Hari Raya to inspire mothers to share their ‘air tangan’ and bake colourful, mouth-watering cookies and cakes for a bright Raya atmosphere for the entire family, especially their children.

 The talented Chef Chef Rose Weiss showed the makings of Planta’s Red Velvet Cookie with Sharifah Shahirah.


Planta’s new cookie and cake recipes bring a colourful twist to traditional Raya cookies like Pineapple Tart, Pandan Semperit and Marble cake while introducing new recipes such as Red Velvet Cookie, Buah Hati Cookie and Pinwheel Cookie. Inspired by the colours of the rainbow, these cookies and cakes will add a colourful vibe and capture a mother’s loving air tangan.


The recipes from Seceria Air Tangan Ibu will be shown every Wednesday on top-rated Malay talk show, Wanita Hari Ini on TV3 beginning June 11 for seven weeks. It features celebrity host and actress, Sharifah Shahirah as she showcases easy, colourful and tasty cookies created by Planta. In this warm family-themed segment, Sharifah invites special guests including her mother, mother-in-law, husband, daughter and sister to join her to share air tangan memories while baking colourful cookies on the show.

In the spirit of giving during the month of Ramadan, Planta is extending the Seceria Air Tangan Ibu campaign through the Beramal Bersama Planta National Charity Baking Week. Mothers can create a ‘colourful’ journey this Ramadan and bake cookies with Planta and share their air tangan with orphans in Malaysia.

“Sharing the results of mothers’ air tangan with the orphans will bring them untold joy as it gives them a real opportunity to experience and taste a mother’s love through the delightful hand-made cookies during Raya,” added Rakesh.


Planta aims to encourage mothers to come together as a lovely gesture to ‘raise’ a target of 50,000 cookies during the month of Ramadan from 16 to 20 July 2014.


Mothers can send their hand-made cookies to selected Mydin and Giant stores from 16 to 20 July 2014 and Planta will deliver the cookies to various orphanages. The public can also bake with Planta in selected Mydin and Giant stores with every purchase of Planta during this period. At the launch event of Seceria Air Tangan Ibu, Sharifah Shahirah set the ball rolling on the Beramal Bersama Planta when she paired up with professional chef, Chef Rose Weiss to bake Planta’s delightful Red Velvet cookies to be packed with personalised messages to the orphans.

Dettol teamed up with MYDIN raised RM20K for RACTAR

Today I am to be invited for the meaningful event where world leader antiseptics, Dettol teamed up with established Malaysian retailer Mydin to raise RM20,000 for non-profit organization Rumah Amal Cahaya Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (RACTAR).

Dettol is the trusted brand in antiseptics proven to effectively kill bacteria, and provides expert protection against germs. Trusted for generations by families and medical professionals around the world, Dettol was first manufactured and launched in 1932.

Dettol has since evolved to include products for personal care and home care. Dettol's current range includes shower gels, bar soaps, hand wash, disinfectant sprays, wipes, laundry detergents and all purpose cleanser.

The campaign rolled out nationwide in all Mydin retail stores from June through July 2013. With every RM10 worth of Dettol products purchased, Dettol donated RM0.10 to charity.

Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Puteri Nor Zehan, Preseident of the RACTAR Foundation. RACTAR Foundation provides full board and education for girls aged between 5 - 20 years old. Apart from primary and secondary school, the students are also given opportunity to train in vocational skills like tailoring, design, or fashion after they turn 17. The home currently houses about 60 girls, they come and go through out the years.

On behalf of RACTAR, Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Puteri Nor Zehan received a cheque of RM20,000 presented by Mr Raghu Krishnan of Reckitt Benckiser and Encik Mirza Murad Ali of Mydin.

After the mock cheque presentation to the children of RACTAR home were treated a memorable Raya shopping trip sponsored by Dettol around Mydin.

School trolley bag for son

I bought a school trolley for son, I choose to purchase in Mydin. Yeah I head there one morning and choose a trolley bag for him. I am happy of my decision because one day heavy rain my son's bag for wet. I have got the trolley bag for him, I need few days to hang the wet bag under sun to dry.

Trolley bag starting price of RM39.90 can be found in MYDIN. The bag I bought for him cost RM49.90 because I think of the fabric/material of bag different.

Kerjaya Orang Kurang Upaya di Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad

I am sure you remembered my post on the Carnival of Employment Opportunites For Person with Disability (Pwds) & Job Coach.

Program Job Coach di Mydin mensasarkan tiga objektif utama iaitu:
1. Melatih staf (terutamanya Head Of Department & Sumer Manusia) untuk memahami Kaedah dan Teknik terbaik dalam melatih staf OKU di cawangan masing-masing.

2. Sebagai persediaan sebelum mengambil lebih ramai golongan OKU sebagai staf bagi menampung kerperluan tenaga kerja di dalam syarikat di masa akan datang.

3. Sebagai sokonga penuh kepada program yang dijalankan oleh JICA/JKM dalam memberi lebih banyak peluang kepada golongan OKU untuk mendapat pekerjaan yang sesuai.

Buat pertama kali, Mydin telah menjalankan satu sesi latihan Job Coach di Mydin Ibu Pejabat pada 24-26 April 2012, yang melibatkan:
a) seramai 37 orang staf
b) dari 12 cawangan Mydin di seluruh Malaysia
c) Terdiri daripada pengamal sumber manusia dan ketua - ketua jabatan.

Pihat syarikat Mydin juga bercadang untuk menjalankan lebih banyak program latihan Job Coach bagi melahirkan lebih ramai staf yang mahir bagi memudahkan proses melatik OKU terutamanya slow learner.

Melalui progam yang disertai sebelum ini, para Job Coach syarikat melalui seliaan Mydin Retail Academy (MYRA) telah membangunkan manual-manual arahan khusus bagi kegunaan staf slow learner.

Manual-manual arahan tersebut merangkumi pelbagai bidang tugas antaranya:

a) Tugasan Penyediaan Makanan
b) Tugasan Penyusuan & Penambahan barangan
c) Tugasan Menggosok pakaian
d) Tugasan Mencetak Tanda Harga
e) Tugasan Melipat Tuala.

Manual-manual arahan tersebut digunakan bagi memudahkan tugas harian staf OKU dengan bantuan serta pemantauan dari semasa ke semasa oleh Job Coach (HOD) dan HR.

Carnival Job Opportunities for Person With Disability@MYDIN MOHAMED HOLDINGS BERHAD

I was invited to attend the Carnival Job Opportunities for Person With Disability (Pwds) at Mydin USJ. MAJLIS PERASMIAN KARNIVAL KERJAYA ORANG KURANG UPAYA (OKU) MYDIN-JKM-JICA YANG MELIBATKAN LEBIH 80 ORANG OKU DI MYDIN USJ SUBANG JAYA‏. Mydin works together with JKM-JICA on this carnival specially for Pwds/OKU who has interest in working in retail and wholesale industry.

MYDIN MOHAMED HOLDINGS BERHAD had committed and effort involving the people with disability.

Before the Carnival Job Opportunities for OKU held in MYDIN USJ, they have hold the same activiites in Mydin Meru Raya Hypermarket, Ipoh, Perak on 28 January 2013. They have employment opportunities interview on the spot for person with disabilty in problem with education they are also known as slow learners. They have total five of OKU people being hired as Sale Promoter and Store Assistant in Mydin Meru Raya Hypermarket.

With the employment opportunities for person with disability(Pwds), this can create the awareness of for society and other industry to create job opporunities for them. With presence of OKU working force, in a way they can also help cut down the relying on foreign workers. With the experience of dealing with OKU this shows that they are trustworthy, diligent, hard working, honest, dedicated, and productive.

At the moment MYDIN has provided job opportunities for 90 of the people with disability. Type of OKU comes in different races and assigned with jobs at different branches of MYDIN in Malaysia including Sarawak and Sabah.

Types of Person With Disability (Pwds)/Orang Kurang Upaya (OKU) in the following:
Problem with education, they have hired 19 people
Speech & Hearing, they have hired 44 people
Physical, they have hired 25 people
Sight, they have hired 2 people
Total of them are 90 people.

Throughout the employee of OKU serving, they are always guided in MYDIN. Each person is given specific job, which is suitable for them and not burden them.
MYDIN always concerned and commited to all employee including the OKU. MYDIN has provided the public facilities specially for them example the OKU car parking spaces, borrowing wheel chair services, toilet for OKU in all Mydin hypermarket. Just for you informatoin, now they are 12 Mydin hypermarket in Malaysia.

They are no difference in salary of employment opportunities, for starter they get RM900 basic salary. After three months confirmation on the job, they will have RM200 transport allowance.

On the day of Carnival Job Opportunities for OKU, they are about 70 to 80 people attended, among them are En. Mohd Affendy Bin Mat Sani from Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM), Puan Terumi Shikata and Miss Yeo Swee Lan from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Cik Wan Arnidawati Wan Abdullah from Jabatan Tenaga Kerja (JTK), parents of person with disability and media.
